Central Admission Committee

Notification

In a measure to streamline and enhance the admission processes, the Vice Chancellor is pleased to announce the re-constitution of the Central Admission Committee for the academic session 2024-25 and onwards. This committee is entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the Admission Processes for all Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programmes of the University, with the primary objective of ensuring a process that is both efficient and timely.

Terms of Reference

To design and publish the official Admission Bulletins (UET/PET/RET) and other special courses of study. This includes the development of comprehensive outreach tools, such as help videos and dedicated help desks, to ensure effective and transparent communication of the University’s admission system.
To develop, review, and refine the admission procedures on an ongoing basis. Any proposed changes or updates to the procedure will be implemented only after receiving due approval from the relevant statutory bodies.
To collaborate actively with the Office of the Controller of Examination and all designated online admission vendors to facilitate necessary technical modifications and updates, thereby ensuring seamless alignment with the refined admission procedures.
To ensure the entire admission process is conducted in a timely, transparent, and error-free manner, upholding the highest standards of integrity and fairness.

Empowerment & CPIO Designation

For operational clarity and effective functioning, the Central Admission Committee (CAC) is empowered by the University Admission Coordination Board (UACB) to oversee the printing and publication of all official prospectuses, application forms, bulletins, and advertisements related to University admissions. All decisions made by the CAC will be reported to the UACB promptly for record.

Furthermore, the Member Secretary of the Central Admission Committee is officially designated as the **Central Public Information Officer (CPIO)** under the provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005 for all activities of the CAC. This designation is in addition to the duties of the Member Secretary within the Academic Section. The Deputy Registrar (Academic) is appointed to serve as the **First Appellate Authority** in this regard.
