Notification for MOP-UP ROUND Allotment
- The University has decided to fill vacant seats through Mop-Up round allotment, the process of which would be different from Spot Round.
- To calculate the final vacancy for Mop-Up round allotment, the Withdraw option will be disabled from 03/08/2026 23:59 hrs till the completion of Mop-Up round allotment process.
- Mop-Up round shall be applicable for all PG courses including GDPI/Practical Test/Physical Test based course provided that the candidate has appeared in respective GDPI/Practical Test/Physical Test and qualified.
- There will be only ONE round of seat allotment. Therefore there would be no provision for any upgradation.
- There will be no online registration. The eligible candidates will have to fill Mop-Up Application Form (attached) and report in person at their respective Department/Center on 07/08/2026 between 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM with all relevant documents and BHU PG Registration Form from Samarth Portal.

The eligible candidates for Mop-Up round allotment will be those who were registered for BHU PG Admissions 2026-27 but currently do not hold any admission seat, in regular or spot rounds, for whatsoever reason.
The following will be the eligible candidates for Mop-Up round allotment:- The candidates who had cancelled/withdrawn their allotted seat.
- The candidates who did not pay/adjusted fee after seat allotment.
- The waitlisted candidates in Regular and Spot rounds.
- The candidates are strongly advised to appear for only ONE programme/course in which he/she had registered previously. In case of multiple applications, the candidature may be cancelled altogether.

During physical counseling, the candidate will have to submit a Demand Draft (DD) of ₹2000/- in favour of "The Registrar, Banaras Hindu University" payable at Varanasi as security deposit.
- The DD will be returned if the candidate is allotted seat and pay course fee through online portal.
- The DD will be returned if candidate is not allotted any seat.
Note: It is the responsibility of the candidate to collect the DD from the concerned department after mop up allotment.
- The DD will be forfeited if candidate is allotted a seat and fails to pay fee.
- The allotment shall be on the basis of merit, out of the eligible candidates who report in person within stipulated date and time, submit their preference choices and Demand Draft.
- The merit of Mop-Up round allotment will be independent of merit of regular round and spot round allotment and therefore will be incomparable.
- Candidates must ensure their eligibility and submit documents accordingly. Missing or incomplete document shall invite cancellation of their candidature.
